LECTURES OF ARCHITECTURE
Maurizio Sacripanti: Peugeot Tower in Buenos Aires. 1962 - Italian/English
In January 1962, the Roman architect Maurizio Sacripanti designed his fresh and seemingly utopic proposal for "the tallest skyscraper in South America". Despite its abstract appearance, the project unveiled the state of grace in Roman architecture was having along with the artists. Too ahead of its time, this project was not far from winning the competition, gaining an honorable mention over the 266 projects. Walking back along the architectural process which took to its final shape, we understand how realistic was this proposal. Thanks to a multi-disciplinary team, where architects, artists, structural, mechanical, and communication engineers cooperated, this project constitutes one of the most remarkable modern Italian episodes. This book investigates its architectural process.
